Pacific Night Study 2

This work, titled "Pacific Night Study 2", is 21 x 40 inches,and is gouache on board. It is part of the Hollywood series. The window looks out on Hollywood Boulevard from the vantage point of my first West Coast art studio. This was one of the first studies done in the Hollywood series, and depicts the landmark Pacific Theater known world wide. This piece depicts with accuracy the striking contrast of the hard-edge, urban archticture of Los Angles, so opposite from the organic environment of the Wisconsin rural life I had just left behind.
